1. Start with the geographic definition
A dashboard can mislead when a place name means different things to different people. Here, West Salem is a village in La Crosse County. A report might also contain county-wide activity, state-wide keyword coverage, or other cities. Those are not interchangeable with activity from West Salem. Bosseo’s public page says its dashboard can show rankings for service-and-city targets, case-type data and which cities produce calls. That makes geographic definitions a central buying question for a West Salem firm: what exactly does a “West Salem” result represent, and how is it separated from La Crosse County or other locations?
Recommended approach
Ask for a written geographic specification before relying on a local view. It should state which place names, service areas and reporting levels will be visible, how a location is assigned to a lead, and how ambiguous locations are handled. Treat the Census population as context for the municipality, not as a forecast of matters or dashboard volume.
