1. Set the geographic boundary before choosing stories
The Census record identifies West Allis as a municipality in Milwaukee County. A firm may serve West Allis, other parts of Milwaukee County, a wider Wisconsin market, or some combination, but those are different scopes. Bosseo’s public Legal News page describes monitoring local and national legal-news sources for a firm’s state and matching stories to practice areas. It does not establish that every West Allis story will generate demand or that a particular geographic segment will produce leads. The useful question is whether the firm wants coverage framed around Wisconsin law, Milwaukee County developments, West Allis residents, or a broader service area.
Recommended approach
Bring a written coverage map to the consultation. Separate West Allis from Milwaukee County and from statewide Wisconsin coverage. Then ask which story types can be limited or prioritized by practice area and state, and how a page should describe jurisdiction without implying that the firm serves every reader who finds it.
