1. Set the geographic boundary before choosing stories
Bosseo’s public Legal News page says its service matches stories to a firm’s practice areas and state. Your local decision is narrower: the firm serves Platteville, a city recorded in Grant County, Wisconsin. That does not establish that every Grant County story belongs on a Platteville firm’s website, nor does it establish that a story outside Platteville is relevant to a prospective client. A page about a statewide law change may be useful; a page about an incident elsewhere may require a clear explanation of why it matters to people the firm serves. The Census population estimate helps identify the municipality being discussed, but it cannot answer whether readers will search, call or retain counsel.
Recommended approach
Define geographic inclusion in advance. Review whether coverage should address Platteville, Grant County, Wisconsin statewide developments, or another service area the firm expressly chooses to serve. Ask Bosseo how geographic relevance is represented in proposed pages and how you can reject stories that fall outside the firm’s actual scope.
