1. Put the 20-second handoff under review
Bosseo’s public AI Answering page says calls ring the firm’s team first and that the AI steps in when nobody answers within 20 seconds. It describes coverage for nights, weekends, holidays and overflow, with up to 20 simultaneous calls. Those are product statements, not evidence that your Hudson office has a particular coverage gap. Review your current routing: business hours, lunch periods, court days, closed-office periods and moments when every line is occupied. A caller from Hudson or elsewhere in St. Croix County may reach the same phone number, so geography should inform the questions you ask rather than dictate a staffing conclusion.
Recommended approach
Map the existing path for answered, abandoned, voicemail and overflow calls. Then decide whether a 20-second safety-net rule fits your front desk and attorney availability. Ask Bosseo to explain how the rule would apply to your number and which exceptions you control.
