1. Set the geographic boundary before reading the numbers
A Fitchburg-focused review should distinguish Fitchburg city from Dane County, the broader Wisconsin market and any other places your firm serves. The Census record identifies Fitchburg as a municipality in Dane County and reports the city population estimate for 2020–2024. That is useful for naming the market under review, but it cannot tell you how many people search for a lawyer, which practice areas are active or which locations generate signed matters. Bosseo’s public ROI Dashboard page says its reporting can include city data, rankings, calls, leads and matters. Before accepting a location total, ask whether “Fitchburg” means a city target, a service area, a caller’s location, a landing-page location or another field.
Recommended approach
Write down the geographic definition for every location field you expect to see. Ask for separate treatment of Fitchburg, Dane County and any wider Wisconsin coverage so an aggregate does not conceal where an inquiry originated or which page was involved.
