1. Set the geographic boundary before reading the numbers
University Place is a municipality in Pierce County, Washington. A dashboard can become misleading when a firm treats University Place, Pierce County, a wider metropolitan area and Washington as interchangeable. They are not the same reporting scope. The Census population estimate describes University Place city only; it does not show how many people search for legal help or where future clients will come from. Bosseo’s public product page says the dashboard can show keyword movement, city data and leads by case type. That makes geographic definition an implementation decision, not a conclusion to draw from population.
Recommended approach
Ask Bosseo to demonstrate how a University Place target is separated from Pierce County and any broader Washington target. Decide which geography belongs in each report, and require the dashboard view to make that distinction clear. Treat population as context for scoping—not as a forecast of legal demand.
