1. Define Parkland coverage before you choose a service area
Parkland is a CDP, not a synonym for Pierce County, the broader metropolitan area or every Washington resident who may search for a lawyer. The Census record places Parkland in Pierce County, but it does not tell you where your prospective clients live, how far your firm travels or which locations Google may associate with an inquiry. Those distinctions matter in Local Service Ads because geographic settings determine which calls and messages your budget is intended to attract. Bosseo’s public LSA page says its program includes category and geography targeting, including practice areas and service areas.
Recommended approach
Bring a precise service-area conversation to the consultation. Identify whether your firm wants Parkland only, additional Pierce County locations, or a wider area, then compare that choice with licensing, court coverage, staffing and consultation capacity. Do not use Parkland’s population estimate as a proxy for expected demand. Treat it as context for defining the place, not as a forecast.
