1. Set the geographic boundary before selecting stories
Your firm may describe its service area as Duvall, King County or Washington, but those terms are not interchangeable. The Census record identifies Duvall city as a municipality in King County. Bosseo’s public Legal News description says its monitoring and matching are oriented to a firm’s practice areas and state. Before using the service, decide whether a story belongs because it concerns Duvall, another part of King County, or Washington more broadly. A Duvall reference alone does not make a story useful, and a statewide legal development may matter even when it does not mention the city.
Recommended approach
Ask Bosseo to show how geographic relevance would be handled for your selected practice areas. Review whether proposed coverage clearly identifies the affected jurisdiction and avoids implying that a statewide issue is a Duvall-specific event. Keep Duvall, King County and Washington as separate review labels in your internal approval decisions.
