1. Start with the exact geographic question
The Census record identifies Cottage Lake as a CDP in King County, Washington. It does not describe a service area, and it does not show whether a law firm’s clients come from Cottage Lake, elsewhere in King County, another Washington community or a broader market. That distinction matters when a dashboard displays city, page or source information. A firm should decide whether “Cottage Lake” is being used as a target location, a client address, a page topic or a reporting filter. Those are different fields and should not be blended. Bosseo’s public ROI Dashboard text says the product can show rankings for tracked service-and-city targets, leads by case type, and which cities produce calls. During a review, ask how those labels will be defined for your firm and whether the geographic field represents the search target or the person’s actual location.
Recommended approach
Use Cottage Lake as a clearly defined reporting dimension, not as evidence of expected demand. Ask to see how a Cottage Lake inquiry would be separated from a King County inquiry and from a Washington-wide inquiry. Keep the firm’s service territory, the search target and the client’s location distinct.
