1. Define the geographic audience before choosing stories
Brier is recorded as a municipality in Snohomish County. A Brier-serving firm may also decide to address people elsewhere in Washington, but those are separate geographic audiences. A page about a statewide legal change should not be written as though it concerns only Brier. A page about an incident in Snohomish County should identify that relationship accurately. A Brier location reference alone does not establish that residents are searching for a topic or that a story will produce a qualified inquiry. Bosseo’s public Legal News page describes monitoring local and national legal-news sources for a firm’s state and matching stories to practice areas. That makes geographic rules an important implementation question.
Recommended approach
Set explicit editorial boundaries for Brier, Snohomish County and Washington. Decide which stories merit a Brier-specific explanation, which belong at county or state level, and which should be skipped because the geographic connection is weak. Measure each group separately rather than treating all Washington visibility as Brier performance.
