1. Start with the calls your team cannot reliably answer
The McNair population estimate describes the community but does not tell you how many people call your firm or when they call. Your own phone records should drive the first decision. Review unanswered calls, voicemail messages, after-hours calls, busy-line events and calls that reached the wrong person. Separate missed calls from calls that were answered but lacked a usable follow-up record. Bosseo’s public AI Answering description says the system can receive calls when the team does not answer within 20 seconds, provide 24/7 coverage, and handle up to 20 simultaneous calls. Those capabilities are relevant to a firm evaluating after-hours and overflow coverage, but they do not establish that your firm needs any particular capacity.
Recommended approach
Ask Bosseo to map your actual call paths before choosing coverage rules. Decide which calls should remain with your team, which should transfer to AI Answering, and which should receive an alternative instruction. Use your own records—not McNair’s population—to set the review period and measurement baseline.
