1. Set the geographic boundary before selecting stories
The Census record identifies Chantilly as a CDP in Fairfax County, Virginia. That relationship matters when you decide whether a story should address Chantilly, Fairfax County, Virginia or a broader service area. Those are not interchangeable audiences. A page about a Virginia statute may be relevant statewide; a page about a local incident may require more careful wording and a narrower geographic description. Population alone cannot tell you which audience is searching or whether a story will generate a matter.
Recommended approach
Define the geographic scope for each practice area before reviewing pages. Decide which stories deserve Chantilly-specific language, which belong at the Fairfax County level and which should remain statewide. Keep geographic references accurate and avoid turning the Chantilly population estimate into a demand claim.
