1. Start with the geography your firm actually serves
Chantilly is a census-designated place in Virginia, recorded in Fairfax County. A firm may serve Chantilly residents, businesses, visitors or clients elsewhere in Fairfax County, the wider Washington metropolitan area or other parts of Virginia. Those are different geographic decisions, and attribution should not collapse them into one label. A population estimate cannot tell you how many people need legal help or how many will contact your office.
Recommended approach
Define the geographic fields that matter to your intake and reporting. Decide whether “Chantilly” should identify a client location, a page viewed, an office market, a matter location or a service area. Review those definitions before comparing channels or pages. Keep the Census geography separate from the firm’s service-area choices.
