1. Start with Burke’s exact geographic role
Burke is recorded as a census-designated place in Fairfax County. A Burke-focused firm may also serve clients elsewhere in Fairfax County, across Virginia or in another defined service area, but those are different geographic scopes. A news page should not turn a Burke incident into a claim that every Fairfax County resident is part of the audience. Nor should a countywide legal development be presented as Burke-specific without a factual basis. Bosseo’s public Legal News description says stories are matched to a firm’s practice areas and state, with local and national legal-news sources monitored. The geographic question for your firm is therefore practical: which places may be named, which should remain statewide, and which should not be used at all?
Recommended approach
Before booking, write down your actual service geography by practice area. Ask how a proposed page will distinguish Burke, Fairfax County and Virginia, and how the firm will review location references before publication.
