1. Define the geographic question before reading the numbers
A Middlebury law firm may serve Middlebury town, other Addison County communities, or clients elsewhere in Vermont. Those are different geographic scopes. Attribution can be useful only when the firm decides which geographic labels matter in its own records. A visit from someone in Middlebury, a landing page mentioning Middlebury, and a matter handled for an Addison County client are not automatically the same fact. Bosseo’s public Lead Attribution page says journeys can include the landing page, channel, referrer, device and intake answers. That makes geography a question to define in the intake and reporting view, rather than something to infer from the town’s population.
Recommended approach
Before a consultation, write down the geographic distinctions you need to review: Middlebury town, Addison County, Vermont, and any broader service area your firm actually accepts. Ask how those distinctions would appear beside case type, source and outcome. Do not use the 9,175 population estimate as a forecast of inquiries or as a reason to presume that a particular practice area needs more staffing.
