1. Start with the service area you can actually serve
Local Service Ads require a deliberate geographic decision. The available Census record identifies Washington city and its relationship to Washington County; it does not establish the boundaries of your firm’s service area or show that residents are searching for legal services. Your office should therefore distinguish Washington city from Washington County and from any additional Utah communities you intend to serve. Do not treat a city population estimate as a forecast of calls. Instead, compare the locations Google permits you to select with the places your attorneys can accept matters, meet clients or handle proceedings. Bosseo’s public Local Service Ads description says its program includes practice-area categories and service areas set deliberately.
Recommended approach
Bring a written list of acceptable locations and excluded locations to the review. Decide whether geographic coverage should be narrow enough to protect relevance or broad enough to reflect your actual intake capacity. Keep Washington city, Washington County and any other Utah coverage areas as separate decisions rather than one statewide setting.
