1. Define what “Plain City” means in your reporting
The U.S. Census Bureau records Plain City city as a municipality in Weber County, Utah. Its 2020–2024 ACS five-year population estimate is 8,396, with a margin of error of 38. That is geographic and population context only; it does not establish legal demand, search activity, competition, lead volume or revenue. Your attribution design should therefore distinguish Plain City from the rest of Weber County and from any broader service area your firm chooses to report. A lead may live in Plain City, reach a page about another community, or contact the firm from elsewhere. Those are different fields and should not be collapsed into one location label.
Recommended approach
At consultation, decide which geography belongs in each report: the prospective client’s stated location, the page or campaign location, and the firm’s intended service area. Ask to see whether those fields can be reviewed separately before using location to change budget or coverage.
