1. Keep Wharton geography separate from intake evidence
Wharton city and Wharton County are not interchangeable geographic labels. The Census record identifies Wharton as a municipality and places it in Wharton County. It reports a 2020–2024 ACS 5-year population estimate of 8,724, with a margin of error of 23. That is a population description for the city, not a measure of law-firm calls or likely cases. For Intake Coach, the useful decision is to define which calls the firm wants reviewed: calls from people in Wharton city, calls connected to matters in Wharton County, or a broader service area. The product should not be configured around an assumed level of demand or staffing need.
Recommended approach
Before a consultation, write down the geographic relationship that matters for intake: caller location, incident location, court or jurisdiction, or the firm’s stated service area. Review whether those distinctions appear in your qualification questions and key-fact capture. Do not use the city population as a substitute for call records.
