1. Start with the geography your firm actually serves
The U.S. Census Bureau records Steiner Ranch as a census-designated place in Travis County, Texas, with a 2020–2024 ACS five-year population estimate of 18,619 and a margin of error of 1,885. That is a description of the place and its population estimate—not proof of legal demand, search activity, competition, calls, cases or revenue. It does, however, give your firm a precise starting label for a measurement conversation. Ask whether “Steiner Ranch” is being treated as a place name, a service-area label, a city target, or simply part of a broader Travis County strategy. Those distinctions matter when a dashboard displays rankings, calls, leads or source pages. A county relationship should not be silently treated as a separate city, metropolitan area or household segment.
Recommended approach
During the review, write down the exact geographic labels your firm wants to measure: Steiner Ranch, Travis County, other Texas locations, or broader areas. Ask Bosseo how those labels would appear in the dashboard and whether the same lead could be associated with more than one geographic signal. Do not approve a city or county comparison until the firm agrees on the definition behind each number.
