1. Set the geographic boundary before reading the numbers
A Pearsall law firm can serve people in the city, elsewhere in Frio County, or a wider Texas market. Those are different reporting questions. The Census record identifies Pearsall as a municipality in Frio County; it does not show legal demand, search behavior or case volume. A dashboard review should therefore ask whether a location field means Pearsall city, Frio County, another service area, or a broader Texas target. Without that distinction, a single total can conceal where an inquiry originated and which geography a ranking represents.
Recommended approach
During a Bosseo consultation, ask for a plain-language definition of every location label used in the dashboard. Separate city, county, metropolitan-area and statewide views rather than treating them as interchangeable. Decide which geographic cuts are appropriate for each practice area before using the data for budget or intake decisions.
