Use Gonzales as service-area context, not a forecast
The U.S. Census Bureau records Gonzales city as a municipality in Gonzales County and reports a 2020–2024 ACS 5-year population estimate of 7,200, with a margin of error of 21. The figure describes the city’s population estimate. It does not show how many people contact a law firm, which matters they have, whether they call during business hours or whether your firm needs more staff. Because households, individuals, the city and the county are different geographic units, a population number should not be converted into a call or case estimate.
Recommended approach
Use the city and county relationship to define which calls belong in your review, then rely on your own intake records. Ask which callers are from Gonzales city, which are from elsewhere in Gonzales County and which are outside the firm’s intended service area. Intake Coach can be considered for evaluating those conversations rather than treating local population as a proxy for performance.
