1. Start with the geography your firm can genuinely serve
Dallas is recorded as a municipality in Texas. The 2020–2024 ACS five-year estimate records 1,307,930 residents, with a margin of error of 153. The same record lists relationships with Collin, Dallas, Denton, Kaufman and Rockwall counties. Those facts establish a substantial geographic context; they do not establish search demand, competition, legal need, inquiries or revenue. They also do not mean your firm serves every listed county. Bosseo’s public product page describes two scope choices: the whole state or only the counties selected by the firm.
Recommended approach
Build the footprint from your actual intake policy, court coverage, travel limits and practice-area fit. Treat Dallas city as one defined location and the five listed county relationships as geographic context to review—not as automatic targets. A narrower county footprint may be more credible if your firm does not accept matters throughout Texas.
