1. Set the geographic boundary before you read the totals
Corpus Christi is a municipality in Texas. The cited Census record associates Corpus Christi city with Aransas County, Kleberg County, Nueces County and San Patricio County. Those relationships do not establish that a caller, searcher or client came from every listed county, and a city total should not be treated as a county or regional total. For a dashboard, that distinction matters. A firm may want to compare a city target with county targets, but those are different reporting questions. The view should identify the geographic definition attached to each keyword, call, form or matter rather than combining locations into an unexplained total. The Census estimate can provide context for the population covered by the city geography; it cannot validate a marketing result.
Recommended approach
Ask Bosseo to show how geographic labels would be defined for your firm’s Corpus Christi reporting and how any county or wider Texas coverage would be separated. Approve a metric only when its location, period and attribution rule are understandable.
