1. Start with the geography you actually serve
Center and Shelby County are related but not interchangeable geographic descriptions. A firm may want to understand inquiries associated with Center, inquiries from elsewhere in Shelby County, or matters connected to a broader Texas service area. Lead Attribution can help organize the source and journey of an individual inquiry, but the useful geographic question must be defined by the firm’s intake and service area. The Census record identifies Center as a municipality and records its county relationship as Shelby County; it does not show how many people search for a lawyer or how many cases a firm can win.
Recommended approach
Before reviewing attribution, decide which geographic distinctions matter to your practice: Center, Shelby County, another Texas location, or a broader set of service areas. Use those distinctions in intake and outcome review only where your firm can do so accurately. Do not treat the Center population estimate as a forecast of inquiries.
