1. Use Big Spring’s geography to define the intake scope
Your service area should be explicit before you judge an intake conversation. Big Spring is recorded as a city in Howard County, Texas. A call from a person in Big Spring is not automatically the same as a call from elsewhere in Howard County, and a population estimate for the city does not describe every individual, household, or legal matter in the county. Intake Coach can support review of conversations, but it does not decide which geographic matters your firm accepts.
Recommended approach
Set the geographic questions your team should ask and document. Depending on your practice, that may include the caller’s location, the relevant county, where an incident occurred, court location, deadline, and whether the firm serves that matter. Review these fields with the attorney responsible for intake so coaching measures the questions that matter to your actual scope.
