1. Define the service area before discussing budget
Your location decision is not simply “Bay City.” Bay City is recorded as a municipality in Matagorda County, Texas, while your firm may accept matters from only certain communities, courts, or travel areas. Bosseo’s public LSA description says its program includes practice-area categories and service areas. That makes geographic scope an implementation choice rather than a conclusion drawn from population. The Bay City population estimate is useful for identifying the municipality under review, but it cannot tell you how many people search for a lawyer or how many inquiries an LSA profile will produce.
Recommended approach
Bring a precise service-area policy to the consultation. Separate locations you actively want from locations you cannot serve, and decide whether the profile should cover Bay City alone or a broader area within your actual practice. Ask how geography will be reviewed when an inquiry falls outside your acceptable coverage.
