1. Set the Austin service area before spending
Austin is recorded as a municipality in Texas. The Census relationship identifies Bastrop, Hays, Travis and Williamson counties, but that relationship does not establish that your firm serves every part of those counties. A Local Service Ads profile should therefore reflect the areas your firm actually accepts, not a geographic assumption based on population. Bosseo’s public Local Service Ads page describes category and geography targeting, including practice-area categories and service areas. Ask which locations can be included, excluded or reviewed as your capacity changes. Keep Austin, individual counties and the broader metropolitan area distinct in your intake rules and reporting.
Recommended approach
Create a written service-area policy before launch. Identify the places where the firm will accept a consultation, the places requiring a screening decision and the places outside the firm’s scope. Compare that policy with the profile settings and with the address or service-area information Google requires.
