Start with the firm’s actual bottleneck
Bosseo describes custom software as a way to build around how a firm works rather than force the firm into an off-the-shelf workflow. The public product page identifies client portals, intake tools, internal dashboards, referral trackers, document intake flows, calculators and connections between existing systems as possible build types. For an Anna firm, the city and Collin County define the service area you may use when reviewing intake and matter workflows; they do not tell you which process is inefficient. Identify that process from your own records and staff experience. Is information re-entered after a consultation? Do team members maintain a spreadsheet because an existing system does not show the needed status? Do clients ask for updates that staff must retrieve manually?
Recommended approach
Bring one recurring annoyance to the consultation in plain language. Bosseo says a formal requirements document is not necessary to begin the conversation. Ask the team to map who touches the work, what information is entered, where it stalls and what a successful outcome would look like. Keep the first scope narrow enough to evaluate the workflow rather than attempting to replace every system at once.
