1. Define the geography before you interpret the numbers
Your firm may serve Sevierville, the wider Sevier County area, or clients elsewhere in Tennessee. Those are different reporting questions. The Census identifies Sevierville city as a municipality in Sevier County; it does not establish how many people search for a lawyer, which practice areas are needed, or how many matters a firm can acquire. A useful dashboard review should therefore make geography explicit. Ask whether a city reference means a search target, a caller’s location, a service area, or the location associated with a page. Also ask how the dashboard distinguishes Sevierville from the rest of Sevier County and from other Tennessee locations your firm serves.
Recommended approach
Bring a written geography definition to the consultation. Decide which locations should appear in ranking, lead and matter views, and avoid treating the Sevierville population estimate as a forecast. If a city-level view is important, ask Bosseo to show how location data is represented and what evidence supports each location label.
