1. Start with the geography your firm actually serves
Humboldt is a municipality, not a synonym for every household or individual in Gibson County or Madison County. The Census record places Humboldt in relation to both counties, so an attribution review should preserve those distinctions instead of treating every nearby inquiry as a Humboldt lead. A record can retain the location stated by the prospective client, the service area selected by the firm and the source path that brought the person to the site. Those are separate fields with separate decisions attached to them.
Recommended approach
Before judging channel performance, decide how your firm will classify location: Humboldt city, Gibson County, Madison County, another Tennessee location or unknown. Review whether your intake records already capture that distinction. Do not use the city’s population estimate as a forecast of inquiries or cases.
