Start with the geography your firm actually serves
The U.S. Census Bureau records Sumter city as a municipality in Sumter County. Its 2020–2024 ACS five-year population estimate is 43,053, with a margin of error of 52. That is context for defining a service area, not evidence of search demand, legal need, competition, calls or revenue. A Sumter firm should therefore decide whether attribution needs to distinguish Sumter city from other parts of Sumter County or from broader South Carolina service areas. The useful measurement question is whether the geographic path associated with an inquiry is visible and meaningful to your intake team.
Recommended approach
Before discussing implementation, list the geographic areas your firm accepts, the matters it handles and the point at which location is recorded. Ask Bosseo how those fields would be represented in the attribution record and how geographic reporting would support—not replace—your firm’s intake decisions.
