1. Separate Fort Mill geography from marketing evidence
The U.S. Census Bureau records Fort Mill town as a municipality in York County. That relationship matters when you define reporting labels, landing-page coverage and service-area questions. It does not show whether a particular practice area is in demand or whether a visitor came from Fort Mill, elsewhere in York County, another South Carolina community or outside the firm’s intended service area. A useful attribution setup should preserve the difference between a location mentioned on a page, a visitor’s actual source, and a matter the firm accepts.
Recommended approach
Decide which geographic distinctions belong in your reporting before reviewing performance. For example, you may want to distinguish Fort Mill inquiries from broader York County inquiries, but only if your intake and journey data can support that distinction. Treat the Census population as context for geographic scope, not as a forecast. During a consultation, review how your firm currently records location, practice area, source and matter status.
