1. Start with the calls your team does not answer
The relevant local fact is geographic, not predictive: West Cocalico township is recorded in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. That tells you how to define the service area in your phone greeting and intake questions; it does not tell you how many people will call or what kinds of matters they will raise. Bosseo’s public AI Answering page describes coverage for nights, weekends, holidays and overflow. It also states that the firm’s team gets the first ring and that the AI can answer when nobody picks up within 20 seconds. This makes the first evaluation question operational: when does a missed call become an AI-handled call?
Recommended approach
Review several weeks of your own call records. Separate unanswered calls by after-hours, lunch or meeting coverage, busy lines, holidays and calls that staff answered but could not complete. Use those observations to decide whether the AI should serve as a narrow backstop or a broader overflow path. Do not use West Cocalico’s population estimate as a substitute for that review.
