1. Start with the decision your team must make
A useful intake does more than collect a name and a message. It gives your firm enough context to decide whether an inquiry fits a practice area, requires prompt review, belongs with a particular person or needs a follow-up request. Bosseo’s public Video Intake description says its guided survey can be organized by case type and can screen for fit and urgency before the inquiry reaches the calendar. That makes the first design conversation specific: which answers change your next action?
Recommended approach
List the decisions your staff makes after a website inquiry arrives. For each practice area, identify the facts needed for an initial review, the matters that should be declined or redirected, and the situations that need escalation. Do not treat Washington’s population estimate as a proxy for website demand or inquiry volume. Use actual firm records and consultation findings to choose what the intake should ask.
