1. Start with Springfield’s actual service boundary
Springfield township is a municipal-town in York County. If your firm serves Springfield as part of a wider Pennsylvania territory, the intake should distinguish the visitor’s location from the matter type. A township name alone does not tell you whether the firm accepts the matter, whether another location is involved, or whether a particular practice area is appropriate. The population estimate of 6,078 is useful as a description of the place, not as evidence that a certain number of people will complete an intake.
Recommended approach
Review the geographic questions your firm needs before a consultation. Decide whether the flow should ask where the visitor is located, where the incident occurred, or both. Keep the service boundary accurate, and do not use Springfield’s population to set a forecast for inquiries, cases or revenue.
