1. Define the reputation territory before asking for reviews
A Southampton firm may serve clients within Southampton township, elsewhere in Cumberland County or across a wider Pennsylvania practice area. Those are different geographic questions. The Census record identifies Southampton township’s relationship to Cumberland County; it does not show where a law firm’s clients live or where its matters originate. A reputation plan should therefore distinguish the township from the county and from any broader service area the firm actually accepts.
Recommended approach
Before implementation, list the locations the firm deliberately serves and the matters it wants to measure. Review whether the Google Business Profile, website contact information and public descriptions accurately reflect that coverage. Do not describe Southampton’s population as the firm’s market or use it to predict review volume. Ask instead: which completed client relationships are eligible for an honest review request, and which geographic or practice-area distinctions matter when a qualified inquiry is assessed?
