1. Start with the geography your firm actually serves
Somerset borough is a municipality in Pennsylvania recorded in Somerset County. The 2020–2024 ACS five-year population estimate for the borough is 5,944, with a margin of error of 50. That is eligibility and geographic context, not evidence of legal demand, competition, search volume, leads, matters or revenue. A Somerset firm may serve people in the borough, elsewhere in Somerset County, or another defined service area. Those are different reporting questions. A dashboard should therefore distinguish a city or municipality target from a county target instead of treating every contact as interchangeable.
Recommended approach
Before reviewing performance, write down the geographic labels your firm uses for campaigns, landing pages, calls and matters. Ask whether the dashboard can preserve those distinctions in the views you will use. Decide whether “Somerset” means the borough, Somerset County, or another service area in each report. Do not use the borough’s population estimate as a forecast; use it to make the geography explicit.
