1. Set the geographic boundary before selecting stories
The Census record identifies Indiana township as a municipal-town in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, with a 2020–2024 ACS five-year population estimate of 7,309 and a margin of error of 22. That is an eligibility fact, not evidence of search demand, competition, case volume or revenue. It also does not describe all of Pennsylvania or establish that a reader in the township is the same audience as a household, an individual or a prospective client. For Legal News, this distinction matters because a page about a Pennsylvania event can be useful only when its jurisdiction, affected people and the firm’s service area are clear.
Recommended approach
Write a geographic policy before approval begins. Specify whether the firm wants coverage for Indiana township, Allegheny County, other Pennsylvania locations or the state as a whole. Require each proposed page to identify the relevant jurisdiction and explain why the firm serves the affected audience. Treat the Census geography as context for scoping, never as a reason to claim that a story will produce inquiries.
