1. Define the geography before you interpret the numbers
Your firm may discuss Hanover, York County, Pennsylvania or a broader service area as if they were interchangeable. They are not. Hanover borough is recorded within York County, and the Census population estimate applies to the borough—not to every household, individual, community or legal market around it. A dashboard should therefore show how location is defined for each tracked question. A ranking target, call source, intake address and matter geography may describe different things. Treating them as one location can make a report appear more precise than it is.
Recommended approach
Before reviewing performance, write down the geographic meaning of every location field you expect to use. Ask Bosseo to demonstrate how a Hanover-oriented target is distinguished from a York County target and how a city or source field is interpreted. Do not use the borough’s population estimate as a forecast. Use it only as context while deciding which service areas, case types and geographic labels your firm wants to measure.
