1. Start with the service area you can actually serve
Bosseo describes a scope that can cover a whole state or only selected counties. That makes the first decision geographic rather than numerical. Bellefonte is in Centre County, so a firm serving Bellefonte should decide whether Centre County is the appropriate boundary or whether its real service area extends elsewhere in Pennsylvania. Do not use Bellefonte’s population as a proxy for demand. The Census record identifies the municipality and its county relationship; it does not establish how often people search for a lawyer or whether a particular service has enough inquiries to justify a page.
Recommended approach
Bring a current list of cities, counties and legal services the firm is prepared to handle. Ask Bosseo to compare a Bellefonte-only scope with a Centre County scope and any wider Pennsylvania scope the firm is considering. Keep places outside the firm’s genuine service area out of the initial decision.
