1. Set the geographic boundary before reviewing news coverage
The Census record identifies Bedford township as a municipal-town in Bedford County, Pennsylvania. A firm may serve Bedford township, other places in Bedford County, a wider Pennsylvania market, or a combination of these areas. Those are different geographic decisions. A Legal News review should therefore distinguish a story’s location from the location of the people the firm wants to reach. A Pennsylvania legal development may be relevant to a Bedford practice even when it does not concern Bedford township. Conversely, a nearby incident may be unsuitable if the firm does not handle that matter or does not serve the affected area.
Recommended approach
Write down the intended service area and practice areas before judging the product. Ask whether proposed coverage should be limited to Bedford, expanded to Bedford County, or framed for Pennsylvania. Review how each page would explain the geographic connection instead of treating the Bedford population estimate as evidence of demand.
