1. Start with the geography you actually serve
The U.S. Census Bureau records Stillwater as a municipality in Payne County. Its 2020–2024 ACS 5-year population estimate is 49,269, with a margin of error of 34. That figure describes the city population; it does not establish legal demand, search volume, competition, inquiries or signed cases. For attribution, the important local question is how your firm defines a Stillwater matter. A lead may live in the city, contact the firm about an issue elsewhere, or come from another part of Payne County. Those distinctions should not be collapsed into one location label.
Recommended approach
Before reviewing reports, decide which geographic facts belong in your intake and matter records. Review whether Stillwater and Payne County need separate views, and whether location should be recorded as the client’s residence, the incident location, the court location or another firm-defined field. Use attribution to examine those records; do not use the Census population as a forecast of lead volume.
