1. Turn Mustang’s geographic scope into an editorial decision
Mustang is recorded as a municipality in Canadian County, Oklahoma. A page about an event in Mustang is not automatically a page about every community in Canadian County, the Oklahoma City metropolitan area or the entire state. Those geographic relationships should be handled deliberately. The Census record establishes the place and county relationship, but it does not establish that residents are searching for legal information or that a particular story will generate inquiries. Bosseo’s public Legal News description says stories are matched to a firm’s practice areas and state. For a Mustang firm, the review question is whether that state-level monitoring can be narrowed in practice to the locations and legal questions the firm is willing to serve.
Recommended approach
Define the service area in plain language before approving coverage. Separate Mustang city, Canadian County and broader Oklahoma stories. Ask whether each proposed page should discuss a named local event, a county relationship, an Oklahoma legal development or only the legal issue without implying a local connection.
