1. Match breaking stories to the geography you serve
Bosseo’s public Legal News page says its system monitors local and national legal-news sources for a state and matches stories to a firm’s practice areas. It also describes pages published on the firm’s own domain and associated with the firm’s state. For an Urbana practice, the useful question is not whether a story is merely in Ohio. It is whether the proposed coverage gives a reader in Urbana or elsewhere in Champaign County a clear reason to visit your site. The Census identifies Urbana as a municipality in Champaign County, but its population estimate cannot be used as a proxy for news demand or prospective clients. Review whether the geographic brief should distinguish Urbana, Champaign County, other Ohio communities, and statewide developments instead of treating them as interchangeable.
Recommended approach
Request an editorial coverage map for your actual service area. Decide which stories merit an Urbana-specific explanation, which belong at the Champaign County level, and which are relevant only across Ohio. Keep the geography visible in the approval decision rather than assuming every statewide item has local value.
