Set the service area before setting the budget
Cincinnati is a municipality in Hamilton County, Ohio. The 2020–2024 ACS five-year estimate records 311,224 residents, with a margin of error of 60. That population figure describes Cincinnati city; it does not establish demand, competition, lead volume or legal need. It also does not automatically define the area your firm can serve. An LSA profile should reflect the geographic relationship your practice can actually support, whether that means Cincinnati, parts of Hamilton County or another approved service area. The decision is operational: a broader area may create inquiries your firm cannot handle efficiently, while a narrow area may exclude matters your attorneys are prepared to accept.
Recommended approach
Map the locations your firm serves, the locations it does not serve and any travel or court limitations. Review those boundaries against the service-area settings available during account setup. Do not use Cincinnati’s population as a forecast; use your own intake records and consultation outcomes to decide whether geographic expansion is appropriate.
