1. Define the geography before you interpret a number
A Bucyrus law firm may discuss work in the city, Crawford County, or other Ohio locations. Those are different geographic scopes. The Census record identifies Bucyrus city as a municipality and records its county relationship as Crawford County; it does not establish how many people search for legal services, where prospective clients travel from, or which locations produce matters. A useful dashboard review should make the geographic boundary explicit for every tracked keyword, call classification and source report. Ask whether “Bucyrus” means the city itself, whether Crawford County is included, and whether other Ohio locations should be assessed separately.
Recommended approach
Bring a written service-area definition to the consultation. Separate city, county and broader Ohio reporting rather than combining them into one unexplained total. Treat any local result as a measured observation about the defined scope, not as evidence that the Census population creates demand.
