1. Start with the footprint you actually serve
Bosseo’s public product page presents two geographic approaches: a whole-state footprint or a narrower set of counties. For a firm evaluating Rockingham, the relevant relationship is exact: Rockingham city is recorded in Richmond County, North Carolina. That makes county selection a concrete scoping question, not a reason to assume that every nearby city is a suitable target. The Census population record identifies Rockingham as a municipality and reports 8,967 residents for the 2020–2024 ACS five-year period. It does not say how many people search for lawyers, which services they need, or how many firms compete for those searches.
Recommended approach
Bring Bosseo a list of the cities and counties your firm genuinely serves, starting with whether Richmond County belongs in the footprint. Ask for a review of statewide versus county-only coverage. Keep service boundaries, consultation eligibility and page targets separate from population figures.
