Start with the task your team repeats
Custom software is most useful when the problem is specific enough to describe in ordinary language. A staff member may re-enter information, check several places before acting, answer a status question manually or maintain a spreadsheet because no existing tool reflects the firm’s process. Bosseo’s public Custom Software page describes builds such as client portals, intake tools and internal dashboards, and says the work begins with mapping the firm’s bottleneck. That does not mean every manual task merits a build. It means your first evaluation should identify the task, its participants, the information it uses and the decision the software must support.
Recommended approach
Bring one process to the consultation rather than a general request to “modernize.” Describe the current beginning, handoffs, exceptions and desired end state. Include where a matter may not follow the normal path. A smaller, clearly bounded tool can be easier to evaluate than a broad replacement for every system in the office.
