1. Define the service area before you fund a lead
New Bern and Craven County are related but not interchangeable geographic labels. The Census record identifies New Bern city as a municipality and records its county relationship as Craven County. Your firm may serve the city, the county, or a different territory permitted by your practice and staffing. Population data cannot decide which boundary produces appropriate inquiries. The practical LSA question is whether your profile and service areas describe where you actually accept matters. A broad territory may create inquiries your firm cannot pursue; a narrow one may exclude communities you intentionally serve.
Recommended approach
Bring a written service-area policy to the consultation. Separate New Bern from Craven County, identify any additional North Carolina locations you serve, and mark locations you do not accept. Ask Bosseo to review how those choices should be reflected in Local Service Ads targeting and how an out-of-area inquiry will be classified.
