1. Set the geographic question before reading the data
Monroe city is recorded separately from Union County. That distinction matters when you decide what a “local” lead means. A report limited to Monroe city is not automatically a report for every prospective client in Union County, and a North Carolina report is broader still. Population is useful context for defining the municipality, but it cannot tell you how many people searched for a lawyer, contacted a firm or signed a matter. Lead Attribution should therefore preserve the geography attached to each marketing path rather than turning the Monroe population estimate into a forecast.
Recommended approach
Agree on the geographic scope you want to inspect: Monroe city, Union County, a broader North Carolina service area, or a combination. Ask how each geography will be represented in landing pages, intake records and reporting. Keep the scope explicit when comparing channels so a broad referral is not treated as a Monroe-specific result without evidence.
